Couloir Spencer
Spring is arrived in the valleys but the mountains remain snowy. Last snowfalls brought good powder above 2800 meters so we decided with Tof Frendo and Francis Maxxou to try the Spencer couloir of Aiguille de Blaitière.
This couloir between the two summits of Blaitière is 50° for 150 meters. then we hav two possibilities the Contamine route which is safer but steeper with short 55° sections or the normal route, less steep but exposed to big seracs. We climbed up the Contamine but as the snow was quite hard and we didn't want to wait the melting of the snow we ski down the normal route, which seems to expose us an acceptable time to the seracs.
Snow was perfect powder in the first section then spring in the lower part.
