Freaky ice
Winter 17/18 was very good for Ice Climbing. I never saw such a temperature amplitude : one day with -10°C and the next day +5°. Despite those high temperature variations some awesome waterfalls froze. The "pas du Roc" (VI 6+/7) first climb in 2003 was repeated. In Norway Fosslimonster was repeated!
January was the hottest month since we're doing weather report, and march was very cold. So we had very good late season conditions, particularly in Kandersteg (near Interlaken).
With several friends : François Marsigny, Fred Gentet and Michel Fauquet we climbed Beta Block (V 7) and Metro (III 5+). Metro is in incredible line inside the cliff. We enter into the cliff by a small cave ; for 2 pitches the waterfall ascend a fifty meters large tunnel.
The climb finish with a 30 meters freestanding cut by a a meter crack. Awesome.
It's amazing between caving and ice climbing. A must to do!
